Services and treatment types

Below are a list of the services I provide and the different types of treatments. Please contact me for any further information.

Sports Massage *

A sports massage is similar to a deep tissue massage, but with a focus on areas that are problematic. During the treatment I will locate and areas in the muscle that need more attention and release 'knots'. At the end of this massage I will also incorporate a myofascial release for the layer between the muscle and the skin.

Deep Tissue Massage

This is more of a traditional massage for relaxing the muscles and relieving daily tension. This can be full body or specified areas of your choice.

Injury Rehabilitation *

If you have sustained an injury we can look into the cause and the source of the pain and design a treatment plan to optimise your recovery. This will include massage treatments and rehab exercises to be done between sessions. This tends to be sport/exercise specific, but can also be used for general muscle strains/sprains.

Online Injury Rehabilitation

If you are unable to have the full injury rehabilitation program including the physical treatment due to location, I can provide you with the exercise plan to complete at home. This will also include video tutorials of self massage techniques. This isn't as effective as if you can get the physical treatments done alongside it, but can still aid recovery.

*

These treatments may include multiple different techniques. You can select the ones you are happy for me to use during the initial consultation. All will be explained in full before you need to decide, but here is a brief description of each below.

Traditional Massage

This includes any techniques made using hands, arms and elbows. It's not as scary as it sounds! And can be tailored to the depth and pressure you're comfortable with.

Tool Assisted

In some cases, steel tools can be extremely beneficial both to the client and myself during a treatment. As well as being able to get a consistent pressure and smooth out muscle tissue, they can be used in a 'scraping' fashion to help with the fascia around the muscles.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is also known as medical acupuncture. It is different to Chinese acupuncture, but targets any muscles that are either in spasm or not activating effectively. This can be used alongside other methods or on its own.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping can be used to release tension and stagnant blood flow around areas of injury or overuse. This is usually built into a treatment with other methods, but is hugely effective.
